Overview

The primary responsibility of the Category Space Analyst is to work in conjunction with sales representatives and partner with retailers to secure and analyze retailer’s sales data, design, and implement new shelf set schematics which drives a retailer’s business while growing SBC distribution, space and sales.  This person can be based out of our Wichita or Lenexa office. 

Responsibilities

Ability and desire to learn JDA Space Planning software and category management principles which will allow you to:

  • Identify and implement appropriate processes to create and optimize well-functioning category management capability.
  • Develop and analyze merchandise assortments that deliver overall category growth through a combination of internal merchandising tools coupled with retailer specified guidelines.
  • Analyze retail and market level data to develop planogram schematics.
  • Create relevant product assortments and optimal space planning that drive sales, while working closely with suppliers, key customers, and SBC team members.
  • Work alongside SBC team members executing shelf sets.

Other responsibilities will include data cleansing, planogram management, modular retrieval, reviewing retail and category management guidelines, etc

Qualifications

  • Analytical skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with a wide range of individuals with varying knowledge and communication styles.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, good judgment, and creativity.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills. 
  • Must be a self-starter and be willing to take ownership of day-to-day responsibilities. 
  • Must be adept at organizational skills and prioritizing activities.
  • Must be able to successfully coordinate multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Must be willing to have a somewhat flexible schedule, with some late nights and weekends required during limited times of the year based on business needs.
  • Travel, including overnight within the state. 
  • Ability to work with autonomy as well as collaboratively with team members.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, and Word.

Certificates/Licenses:

  •  Valid Driver's License and maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of employment to qualify for a Kansas ABC Sales License.
