Overview

The selected individual must be willing and passionate about partnering with retail customers to build joint business plans, executing, spending time at retail, and enthusiastically embrace a true “role up his/her sleeves” approach in actually doing work and “getting stuff done”. The ideal candidate will have alcoholic beverage industry experience as well as extremely strong leadership skills.  This individual must also have an ability to review analytical data and implement change strategies when necessary. This Key Account Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with our customers, employees, and suppliers and own the responsibility for success of their group in their assigned market.

Responsibilities

  • Grow sales and share in assigned accounts.
  • Assume 100% responsibility for account management working in collaboration with our supplier personnel.
  • Develop joint business plans in conjunction with retail customers and suppliers focused on achieving mutually agreed upon retail accounts and Standard Beverage objectives.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with customers to build strong relationships and ensure execution of the joint business plans.
  • Use fact-based selling to execute ad strategy, distribution of new items, shelf space, pricing, and promotional programs.
  • Propose and develop solutions to address any performance issues.
  • Build relationships at store level with customers.
  • Conduct weekly market visits, inspecting execution and coaching sales reps and retail specialists.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; may substitute relevant experience.
  • Experience calling on chain buyers, with proven track record of sales planning, development of joint business plans, and execution of retail programs.
  • Solid analytical and technical skills in MS office, familiarity with syndicated data, and internal sales tools.
  • CPG industry experience required with alcoholic beverage background preferred.
  • Ability to collaborate with a wide range of individuals with varying knowledge and communication styles.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, good judgment, and creativity.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Must be a self-starter and be willing to take ownership of day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Must be adept at organizational skills and prioritizing activities.
  • Must be able to successfully coordinate multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Must be willing to have a somewhat flexible schedule, with some late nights and weekends required during limited times of the year based on business needs.
  • Ability to work with autonomy as well as collaboratively with team members
