Overview

We are seeking an experienced Production Manager to provide leadership, structure, and oversight of our warehouse operations in Lawrence, Kansas. Reporting directly to the Senior Operations Manager, this role will lead a team of 60+ warehouse associates, ensuring the effective execution of nightly production operations. This position combines strategic planning with hands-on leadership and is responsible for labor management, process improvement, and performance metrics.

 

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, preferably with a background in warehousing or distribution, and a demonstrated ability to coach and develop high-performing teams.

 

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 4:30 PM until 3:00 AM. End times may vary based on business needs.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on leadership for all nightly warehouse operations.
  • Plan, organize, and execute nightly production activities and workflow.
  • Lead, coach, and motivate team members to drive performance and accountability.
  • Monitor workflows and implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Track and optimize key performance indicators (KPIs) and productivity metrics.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Maintain and enhance operational processes and procedures in alignment with company goals.
  • Collaborate with Operations leadership to identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and OSHA regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience in operations leadership.
  • Minimum 3 years of warehouse or distribution operations management.
  • Experience leading teams of 60+ employees in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated success in process improvement, team development, and change management.
  • Hands-on leadership style with a results-oriented mindset and strong ability to execute.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Proficiency in warehouse systems such as AS400, SAP, or similar WMS platforms.
  • Familiarity with DMW&H Systems Shiraz WCS software is a plus.
  • Ability to safely operate forklift, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment( training/certification may be required) 
  • OSHA compliance experience or training preferred

Physical Requirements

 

    • Must be able to stand, walk, and move about the warehouse for extended periods of time, often- for the majority of a shift.
    • May be required to lift, carry, push, pull, or move cases of alcohol, wine, or beer weighing up to 35 pounds.
    • Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and climb ladders or step stools as necessary.
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment that may include varying temperatures, noise, and concrete floors.
    • Requires physical stamina to manage warehouse operations, including overseeing production, managing order fulfillment, and assisting with other warehouse operations as needed.
