Overview

We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Supply Chain Manager to lead and optimize our supply chain and inbound logistics operations. This role will oversee a small, focused team and be responsible for procurement, inventory capital management, vendor relationships, and inbound logistics. The ideal candidate will drive accuracy, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness across all supply chain functions, while fostering cross-functional collaboration and ensuring alignment with broader business objectives and long-term value creation. The Supply Chain Manager will report to the Chief Financial Officer.

 

This is an on-site role, based out of our Lenexa, KS office. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a small team, fostering a collaborative, data-driven, and solutions-focused culture grounded in accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee daily operations across procurement, inbound freight, and inventory capital management.
  • Develop and execute supply chain strategies to enhance forecasting, inventory health, procurement efficiency, and vendor performance.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Accounting, Warehouse Operations, and external partners to align activities with business objectives and deliver company-wide results.
  • Monitor and own key performance indicators (e.g., lead times, fill rate, days on hand, inventory turns), leveraging industry benchmarks to generate actionable insights that drive operational improvements and informed decision-making.
  • Analyze demand trends and supply data to optimize stock levels and identify excess or unproductive inventory.
  • Partner with logistics providers to optimize transportation routes, reduce costs, and maintain high delivery performance.
  • Oversee inventory demand systems to ensure data accuracy, system integrity, and operational reliability.
  • Champion continuous improvement through process optimization and the adoption of advanced technologies (e.g., EDI, PO confirmations, AI-driven tools).

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Finance, Business, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management, preferably within a distribution environment.

Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, logistics, and inventory management best practices.

Proven leadership or supervisory experience, with the ability to coach and develop high-performing teams.

Exceptional communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities, with a process-oriented mindset and ability to quickly adopt and improve systems.

High level of professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct in all interactions.

Proficiency in relevant systems and tools, including StockIQ, Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite
