Overview

We are seeking an experienced Conveyor Maintenance Technician to join our night shift team in Lawrence, KS (Monday–Thursday, 5:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.).

The ideal candidate will have strong skills in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing automated conveyor and sortation systems. This role also involves general facilities maintenance and repair.

A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in a similar environment is required. Prior experience with systems such as Intelligrated, Hytrol, Dematic, or Rapistan is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair material handling equipment such as conveyor systems, spirals, motors, belts, chains, rollers, brakes, photo eyes, PLCs, forklifts,order pickers and air compressors
  • Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime
  • Complete general facilities maintenance and repairs as needed
  • Maintain accurate inventory of parts and supplies
  • Document and report on system status, maintenance work, and repairs performed
  • Follow all safety protocols and company policies
  • Assist in keeping the facility clean, safe, and well-maintained
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in material handling systems and facility maintenance
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial maintenance, or a related technical field (preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of automated conveyor systems and control systems such as PLCs and EZLogic
  • Experience repairing conveyors, motors, pumps, chains, belts, hydraulics, and rollers
  • Familiarity with basic electrical and mechanical systems
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently
  • Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment (e.g., scissor lifts, forklifts, cherry pickers, stock chasers)
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds, and to perform frequent physical activity such as walking, standing, crouching, kneeling, and climbing

Job-Specific Skills & Experience

  • Successful completion of OEM training for Hytrol, Rapistan, Dematic, or Intelligrated systems
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Power zero-pressure accumulation systems
    • Sliding shoe combiners and high-speed sorters (e.g., Intellisort)
    • Ambaflex spiral conveyors
    • Intelligrated Zone Flex controllers
    • Cognex or Datalogic camera scanners
  • Experience maintaining forklifts and order pickers
  • General building maintenance experience (e.g., HVAC, lighting, plumbing, basic repairs)

Salary Range

USD $26.00 - USD $34.00 /Hr.
