Overview

A Lead Merchandiser is responsible for assisting the Merchandiser Manager with the coaching and development of the merchandising team through servant leadership. He/she will be responsible for assisting the Merchandiser Manager with interviewing/hiring candidates. This position will work in conjunction with the Standard Beverage sales team by developing and maintaining positive relationships with customer accounts while supporting our retail specialist team in the market on a daily basis and helping maintain a positive productive work environment for the team.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting Merchandiser Manager with interviews, onboarding, and training
  • Training and development of merchandisers and help guide in future career paths within SBC
  • Conducting/scheduling ride-withs with merchandisers, ensuring lines of communication remain open and effective to foster continuous improvement.
  • Reviewing and providing continual feedback to employees
  • Developing & maintaining relationships with customer accounts and salespeople
  • Providing feedback to Merchandiser Manager regarding personnel
  • Assist in planning team building events to help build team comradery
  • Helping the Merchandiser Manager refine routing for effectiveness & efficiency of routes.
  • Will be expected to work up to two Saturdays and Sundays a month to help support Merchandisers in the market as well as being the on-call manager on the weekend as needed.
  • Assist in managing team if Merchandiser Manager is not available or on PTO.
  • Performing Merchandiser duties as needed

Qualifications

  • Preferred one-year experience in the field or restaurant/retail liquor experience
  • Be able to fulfill all duties & expectations of a merchandiser as needed
  • An ability to teach, coach, & mentor
Licenses, Age restrictions:
  • Valid Driver's License and maintain an acceptable driving record and valid driver license and maintain auto insurance coverage at least to the minimum amount specified by the Company and state law.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of employment in order to sell alcohol in the state of Kansas.
